The Farm

The permaculture farm is secondary as a business model to the tourism enterprise.
Nevertheless the popularity of organic and permaculture produce increases every year and the goal is to make the farm profitable within two to three years. At the very beginning, the farm will be run by one full time employee farmer (ideally also a resident on private property) and up to eight wwoofers (WWOOF: Wordwide Work on organic farms). Work for food and accommodation is a proven method to make organic farms profitable.

Opportunities for economic profit from farm:
– Running permaculture courses and hosting retreats.
– Selling organic, nutrient dense produce to high class restaurants in Porto.
– Selling organic wine, beer and kombucha made on the farm.
– Running a farm cafe and shop.
